What Does a Smart Business Connector Do?
As a Smart Connector, you're not selling, you're having conversations.
What Does a Connector Do?
As a Connector, your role is simple and powerful: you start conversations and build relationships. You’re not pitching or persuading — you’re listening, sharing, and connecting people to resources when it feels aligned. The company handles the selling; you’re the bridge that opens doors. This approach keeps things human, authentic, and sustainable.
One strategy to start conversations and connect with people is to join networking groups on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Alignable.
Once you join the groups, the first step is to intentionally introduce yourself clearly and warmly. Let’s set this up so it feels natural, human, and sustainable, not spammy or exhausting. Here are some tips. Please comment below if this helps.
FIRST: Your Networking Mindset Reset
Before tactics, here’s the frame that will make everything else work:
You’re not “showing up to sell.”
You’re showing up to:
- connect
- be useful
- be visible
- open doors to conversations
If you do only that consistently, opportunities follow.
SECOND: The Golden Rule for Group Intros
Your intro should do one of these (not all):
- invite conversation
- signal how you’re helpful
- sound like a real human
Not a résumé. Not a pitch.
THIRD: A Simple 30-Day Rhythm (Very Doable)
3–4 days a week
- 10–15 minutes per platform (not all in one day)
- 1 post per week (total, not per platform)
- 5–10 thoughtful comments
That’s enough to:
- activate your presence
- let people know you exist
- open conversations
